During 2015 we appointed Pulp Films to put two promotional videos together of Champagne Castle Hotel. Our brief was simple in it’s wording, but challenging in it’s execution. We wanted a place to relax in a nice location and we certainly found it in Champagne Castle. Don't even think about not staying her if you are in the Drakensberg, the hospitality as well as the facilities are amazing. We stayed in Chalet 6 and the whole ambiance of the surroundings just made this a wonderful getaway. The food is top class and will be remembered for long after your stay. This has now become an annual competition at Champagne Castle Hotel. TripAdvisor rates Falcon Ridge as the number one attraction of things to do in Winterton, and they’re not wrong in their assessment. Champagne Castle Hotel is nestled below the second highest peak in South Africa, Champagne Castle (3377m), part of the main escarpment within the uKhahlamba-Drakensberg mountain range, the highest mountain range in South Africa. Due to its diversity of plant, bird and insect life and the richest collection of San rock paintings in Africa, it has been declared a Mixed World Heritage Site. For visual impact, recreational variety and luxurious splendour, Champagne Castle Hotel is pretty close to being an ultimate experience. Our restaurant is beautifully appointed and faces the mountain and the hotel verandah. All meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) are served buffet style offering an extensive menu. Our bar is a wonderful combination of comfort, ambience (open fireplace), mountain outlook and patio access, and is open till late. We have a large patio overlooking the pool area with wonderful views of the surrounding mountains. It is an extension of our restaurant, lounge and bar areas. Champagne Castle has long been considered one of South Africa’s premier mountain holiday destinations for the entire family due to the diversity of activities available to both adults and children alike. During school holidays, a kiddies entertainer arranges an extensive programme of activities to keep the children entertained and busy. Babysitters can be arranged for the evenings for a nominal fee.
